Prison doctors were be expected to be part of the NHS Primary Care Service, and have posts in NHS GP practice. This was to allow NHS standards of accrediation and clinical governance to be applied to the prison health services. Archway Surgery was in the vanguard of these reforms and has been offering medical and Clinical IT services to The Mount Prison from  September 2001 until April 2006.  We have been working in prisons since.
